Parky’s Thank You Sonnet

001

Parky had a great time on his trip to California.  He wrote this sonnet as a way of thanking our host, Bill Harwood.

A car, a train, a bus, two planes I took
To visit our friend, Bill, in southern Cal.
He drove us all around to have a look
At Encinita‘s many choice locales.
For lunch, Bill put together quite a feast,
Exquisite sandwiches and luscious fruit.
He made me want to not return back east,
But lounge at Black’s Beach in my birthday suit.
At night we’d set out on a groovy groove:
Great restaurants, gay night spots, and long walks.
We yakked ‘bout ways in which we might improve –
We walked the walk, and didn’t balk the talk.
Bill’s built his house, and life, with keen insight
Into the things that bring his guests delight!

Just a few more snapshots follow – starting with Bill’s garden!

Lip service!

Thank you again, Bill!
