New Blog on the Block: Ping Pong Parkinson

There’s a new Parkinson’s website in town, and it’s called Ping Pong Parkinson.

I’m part of this group, and I must say that learning ping-pong as an adult is stimulating, challenging, and a lot of fun.  And everyone is hoping that it helps reduce symptoms, just like Rock Steady boxing and other sports and athletic activities.

We are also learning juggling – keeping our hands busy all the time!

  1. I could write the health and safety post for this one. We live in the South of France and have a large terrace cut into a steep slope, which results in a 5 foot drop off the edge of it. We are still “getting round” to putting up safety balustrades – deadline being the birth of the first grandchild. But wannabe grandad to be here, was demonstrating the old ping pong skills to my step-son, and raced round for a drop forehand, foregetting the cliff edge.
Fortunately I managed to land on my feet and parachute roll. Dangerous sport ping pong. (Don’t get me started on badminton). That was last summer – PD diagnosed this year.
