Gearing Up for Portland! 4th World Parkinson Congress!

Gear

Over the next few weeks I’ll be upgrading the Parking Suns website to concentrate more on the upcoming World Parkinson Congress in Portland, Oregon (Sept 20-23, 2016).  Once the new year starts, I’ll continue to blog regularly about the Congress’ many foci.

Here’s what I’ve done so far:

  • Created links to the various Congress websites.  (I’ll continue to add to this list….)
  • Compiled the links to the Congress’ Official Blogger Partners.  I hope you visit them all!
  • Added recently published books by and about people with Parkinson’s.
  • Tweaked my earlier post about Parky the Raccoon (embiggened the photos and lightened the darker ones).
  • Added two new categories to my blog:  nutrition and physical exercise.  Now you can pull up all my posts on these two topics in one swell swoop!  (Bonus:  “nutrition” includes coffee, wine, beer and chocolate!)  (And nothing else!)  (Just joking!)

Here’s what I’ll do going forward:

  • Blog about upcoming Congress podcasts.
  • Review each of the WPC Official Blogger blogs, one by one.
  • Blog about my experiences with the Power Through Project, a joint program with the Brian Grant Foundation and the WPC to get people with Parkinson’s and their compatriots to exercise together between now and the Portland Congress.  Click here for more background details.
  • Write more posts about nutrition and physical exercise.
  • Review recent books about PD.  Note:  the Congress will have its own “book nook.”
  • Update my site with more news about the Congress and its many events.
  • Follow Parky the Raccoon’s adventures hither, thither and yon.  (I hear he writes poetry, too!)

If you have any requests or suggestions, I am, as Ross Perot famously said back when presidential election campaigns weren’t so scary, “all ears.”
