Swimming the Hudson River

Today, with the support of Parky 1, Parky 2 and Parky 3, I swam across the Hudson River from the city of Newburgh to the town of Beacon.  Newburgh and Beacon are not quite halfway up the Hudson River if you’re traveling from New York City to Albany, the state capital.  The river is a …

The Athletic Life: One Aspect

Yesterday I entered the Grimaldo’s One Mile Swim Competition, held on the beach at Coney Island.  Things did not go as planned.  Let’s tell the story chronologically… The alarm clock rings at 4:30 a.m.  Parky 1, 2, and 3 are ready to go, and so are my goggles, towel and Parkinson’s pills.  The picture is …

Today let’s check out our town’s recently opened Sing Sing Kill Greenway!   Some necessary nomenclature:  Sing Sing is the famous prison in our town, named after the Sinck Sinck Nation, a Native …

Tail End of the World Parkinson Congress…

Sigh! The World Parkinson Congress is over!  And now we’ve scattered to more than 60 countries around the world – all 4,500 of us. Parky and I blogged a lot about the Congress before, during, and after.  Here are our blog posts by category: Parkinson’s Disease / Academic and Other Sessions Questions for the World …
