Fox Foundation Endorses “Parkinson’s Pandemic” Paper

Todd Sherer, the CEO of the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research, this week wrote an op-ed in The Hill in which he promotes a recently published opinion piece in JAMA Neurology, which called for treating Parkinson’s as a pandemic.

I blogged about the Jama Neurology article before; let’s hope Todd Sherer’s article pushes lawmakers in Washington and the heads of the NIH to devote more money for research.  We need better treatments for PD, and we need a cure.

Key quote from Todd’s piece:

The JAMA Neurology viewpoint underscores a new level of urgency in the battle against Parkinson’s disease. We face a pandemic, and we should treat it as one.
