Throwback Thursdays Art

Every Thursday, as part of my personal “enriched environment” initiative, I post a piece of art, usually from the Metropolitan Museum of Art, which recently released online some 400,000 high-resolution images of its collection.  All artwork will show a sun (or sunlight) somewhere.

I won’t name the piece or the artist, but instead invite you to study the art and post a comment addressing one or more of these questions:

  • What is going on in this picture?
  • What do you see in the picture?
  • What does it make you think of?
  • What observations can you make?

  1. I see that there are many clouds floating in the sky, but the artist chose not to have any directly in front of the moon , in fact the moon Is neatly placed in an open spot encircled by three clouds that are approaching it but not quite touching it. The picture is a bit unreal as I can’t imagine a blue sky like that , even with a full moon .

  2. Yes, it’s bitter cold in this picture. And outside my door! We have temperatures below zero degrees! Chills when I look at this art! Wow!
