Parky Pens a Poem!

Parky - Sonnet 29

Parky, the official mascot of the World Parkinson Congress, had an online chit-chat with his buddy William tonight, then wrote the following sonnet!  Amazing!

When I’m in place with fortune and men’s eyes,
I’m not alone! No need to curse my fate
Or trouble strangers with my bootless cries!
My bootless feet and pants-less legs don’t state
That I lack friends, that I gave up on hope…
I’m Parky the Raccoon, with friends possessed!
A kindly woman here, whose telescope
Sees halfway ‘round the world!  And farther east,
Two guys make room for me!  And then, arising
In another home, a happy state
I feel, where children, ever energizing,
Sweetly sing the love we celebrate:
For Parky’s worldwide friendship such wealth brings
That never would I change my state with kings!

Wow!  Oyez, oyez, oyez!

Meanwhile, you can buy your own Parky here!  All profits go to the WPC Travel Grants Program to support a junior researcher or person with Parkinson’s disease to attend the World Parkinson Congress 2016 in Portland!
